ACCIDENTS

We pride ourselves on supplying a pristine vehicle and would like it returned in perfect condition. If you are involved in an accident or if anything is lost or damaged please contact us immediately. We can then make arrangements for repairs and order spare parts so that the vehicle can be repaired ready for the next customer. In the event of an accident or collision you must obtain the names and addresses of third parties and any witnesses, and report the incident to the police and insurance company. You must not make any admission of liability to other parties, settlement offers or other such agreements. You will be liable for all third party property damage incurred whilst on hire. You must assist in the handling of any claims or convictions following an accident or incident, including providing all relevant information and attending court to give evidence if requested. We reserve the right to terminate this agreement at any time without notification, if we believe you are in breach of these terms & conditions, have obtained the vehicle through fraud or misrepresentation, the vehicle appears to have been abandoned or is not returned at the agreed date and time.

We will retrieve the vehicle if we believe the safety of the passengers or the condition of the vehicle are in danger. In these circumstances you will not be entitled to a refund or reimbursement of the Security Deposit.

In the event of cancellation no alternative vehicle will be offered. We reserve the right to refuse hire to any person at any time without explanation.

DAMAGE

The customer is liable for any damages sustained to the vehicle and its contents whilst on hire, including tyre damage, and must pay the full price of any repairs, regardless of fault.

VEHICLE TRACKER

All vehicles are fitted with a vehicle tracker to monitor vehicle location and driving style to ensure safe driving at all times.

OFFENCES & PENALTIES

Hirers are liable for any driving offences, fines and congestion charges incurred whilst in charge of our vehicle.

BREAKDOWN COVER

Full breakdown cover is included in your hire. The customer will be liable for any call out charges that are due to their own mistake, accident or negligence.

MAINTENANCE

You must take every necessary step to correctly maintain the vehicle whilst it is in your care. If a warning light is illuminated on the dashboard please consult the owners manual to identify the problem. If you are unable to fix the issue yourself you must report the problem and call for breakdown assistance.

MILEAGE

The quoted prices include up to 100 miles per day, so for example a 3 day hire can cover 300 miles, a 7 day hire can cover 700 miles. It isn’t a problem if you want to travel further, but there is a nominal fee to cover the extra mileage. We charge 35p per mile over the daily allowance, so for example an extra 100 miles would cost £35. Please contact us for more information.

We supply our vehicles with a full tank of fuel and require you to return them with a full tank. You will be liable for any associated costs if you fill the fuel tank with the wrong fuel. This includes breakdown costs and damage to the engine or fuel system. Do not start the engine if you fill the tank with the wrong fuel by mistake, as this can do irreversible damage. Call the breakdown number immediately for assistance.

VEHICLE USAGE

Whilst on hire, the vehicle must be driven cautiously in a safe and careful manner. A vehicle tracker is installed that can monitor reckless driving styles and breaches of the speed limit.

The vehicle height is 2.1 metres, so it cannot enter car parks with height restrictions.

The vehicle must not be used in prohibited areas or driven by anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The ignition key must not be left in the vehicle or in the ignition at any time whilst unattended. All doors and windows must be left closed and securely locked, with the alarm and immobiliser activated when the vehicle is unattended.

The vehicle must only be driven by the insured hirer, and not used for commercial purposes, business use, or lent/hired for reward.

The vehicle must not be used for any illegal purposes, race, rally, contest or competition. It must not be used to carry hazardous substances, volatile liquids, gases, explosives or other corrosive or inflammable material.

You must not make any alterations to the vehicle.

There is a maximum of 4 passengers, unless the extra 5th passenger seat is fitted. All passengers must wear the installed seat belts.

You are not permitted to tow a trailer or another vehicle.

The pull out side awning must slope downwards, so that rainwater does not collect on the canvas. The awning legs must also be pegged down to avoid damage by gusts of wind. Do not raise the tailgate with bikes on the bike rack as they may hit the roof, especially if the pop up roof is raised.

POP UP ROOF

Please follow the instructions in the manual when operating the pop up roof to avoid damage. Check that there is enough clearance before opening the roof. when closing the roof remove the safety net, lower the bed panel, open the roller shutter, switch off and secure the reading light using the velcro strap (checking that it has cooled sufficiently), make sure there isn’t anything left on the upper bed and open a door to release air pressure in the canvas. Perform a visual inspection of the roof halfway through opening and closing to ensure the canvas has folded inwardly and isn’t trapped in the folding mechanism. Always fit the safety net to protect occupants from falling. Young children should not be allowed to sleep upstairs. Never drive with the pop up roof open, it must be completely closed when the vehicle is in motion.

WASTE WATER, GAS HEATING

Waste Water

Do not pour oil or waste food down the sink because this will block the waste water system.

Gas Appliances

The vehicle has a twin burner gas hob. The gas supply should be turned off when travelling or not in use. Do not leave the gas supply on overnight whilst people are sleeping in the vehicle. Make sure the hob has cooled sufficiently before closing the lid.

Diesel Heater

Our vehicle comes with a fitted diesel heater, so the vehicle can be used throughout the winter season. Always refer to the owners manual before using the heater. Do not use in unventilated areas (eg inside a garage). Fumes from the heater contain carbon monoxide which is an odourless and poisonous gas. The system runs on diesel from the fuel tank so ensure there is enough fuel to run the heater. Parts of the exhaust system for the heater (underneath the vehicle) get hot during operation, so do not park near any flammable material (.e. dry grass). We do not recommend using the parking heater overnight whilst sleeping in the vehicle, instead we offer a thermostatically controlled electric fan heater with our optional Cosy Camper pack.

Carbon Monoxide & Smoke Detector

There is a carbon monoxide and smoke detector supplied in the vehicle to detect harmful gases. Please test both at the start of your hire. Never remove the batteries from either device.

PARKING YOUR OWN VEHICLE WHILST HIRING OUR CAMPER

You are welcome to leave your vehicle at our address whilst on hire in our camper, but do so entirely at your own risk. We do not accept responsibility for any damages or loss.

PETS ALLOWED

We do allow pets in the camper, but any damage caused by a pet will be your responsibility.

NO SMOKING

We run a strictly No Smoking policy in our vehicles. If there are any signs of smoking you will be charged for additional cleaning.

TITLE TO VEHICLE

I acknowledge that INSPIRE CAMPER HIRE retains title to the vehicle and that I possess the goods as a mere bailee only. I do not have any right to pledge INSPIRE CAMPER HIRE credit in connection with the vehicle and agree not to do so. I shall not agree, attempt, offer or purport to sell, assign, sublet, lend, pledge, mortgage, let on hire, or otherwise part with or attempt to part with the personal possession of or otherwise deal with the vehicle.
